About Our Founder: Alexia N. Smith, MS, LCPC
Alexia N. Smith, MS, LCPC, is a licensed clinical professional counselor, certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor, Level 1 IFS-trained therapist, and mental wellness consultant.
She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University Maryland and brings nearly a decade of experience in research, program development, education, workforce initiatives, and leadership roles at organizations such as the Maryland Higher Education Commission and Johns Hopkins University.
Alexia has worked across the U.S., Mexico, and Colombia, and is known for developing culturally responsive mental health programming that helps individuals and organizations better understand mental health within the broader social and environmental contexts shaping people’s lives.
Alexia believes healing deepens when people are able to understand their emotional experiences with compassion rather than self-blame.
Her work increasingly centers on helping people put mental health in context; recognizing how social conditions, chronic stress, identity, grief, and cultural expectations influence emotional wellbeing.
As a psychoeducator with a background in program management and research, she designs workshops and wellness programming that blend evidence-based strategies with warmth, humor, and cultural awareness, making complex mental health topics accessible and meaningful for diverse audiences.
As a therapist, she creates safe spaces that honor each person’s emotional, mental, and intuitive strengths. Her clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and holistic tools such as mindfulness and nervous system regulation practices.
Alexia primarily serves Black and BIPOC adults and transition-age youth navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and the pressures of over-functioning in demanding environments.
Today, Alexia offers therapy, consulting, workshops, and speaking engagements for individuals, schools, organizations, and communities.
Through this work, she helps people and leaders better understand burnout, collective grief, trauma, ADHD, and the broader pressures shaping mental health today.
Known for her dynamic and engaging facilitation style, Alexia partners with organizations to create environments where emotional wellbeing, psychological safety, and sustainable practices can take root.
Whether through therapy, workshops, or consulting, her work invites individuals and institutions to move beyond viewing mental health as personal failure and toward a deeper understanding of the conditions that shape wellbeing.

"I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with Alexia for almost 4 years. In her position she played a very solid and valuable part towards our students and the overall program. Not only did Alexia have a positive impact on me but she absolutely had a major impact on our young people. We look up to Alexia for her knowledge, honesty, kindness and free spirit. After having the opportunity to build a strong relationship with her I have learned a lot on how to just live freely! I now see and understand how she is the amazing person and therapist that she is."

The experience overall was 11 out of 10! The activities had a great flow and I loved how you made the space feel safe and open and how you helped us be conscious of our word usage and how to be respectful and inclusive to others. I appreciated your energy, authenticity, and "realness." Thanks for a great session!

"I liked how well organized everything was. I appreciated the "pre work" of the mutual openness of sharing. This carried over into setting the stage of how truly safe the space was. I really enjoyed the opening and closing of cleansing our energy and setting intentions. I felt like we had a cocoon of Queendomness. I enjoyed every minute. I wouldn't change anything... you have a high level of professionalism and you truly SEE and HEAR us. Thank you for providing this opportunity!"
